A new study confirms what most of us already know: we’re doing the most when it comes to packing for trips. The numbers don’t lie—60 items for a week-long getaway, but we’re only using 34 of them. Sound familiar? 🙋🏾‍♀️

Here’s the breakdown:

  • 72% of us are overpackers. We can’t help it! There’s that “just in case” dress, the backup shoes for the backup shoes, and outfits for every possible scenario (brunch, beach, and Beyoncé concert vibes).
  • 65% of us are fighting the zipper. Yep, we’re the queens of sitting on our suitcases to get them closed. It’s practically a workout.
  • 58% are paying those airline weight fees. Nothing like hearing, “Your bag is overweight,” and having to reshuffle everything at the check-in counter while the line side-eyes you.
  • And here’s the kicker: 42% of us still plan to shop while on vacation. So not only are we bringing too much, but we’re also bringing back even more!

Ladies, it’s time to rethink our packing strategies. Let’s aim for capsule wardrobes—versatile pieces that can mix and match for any occasion. Think less about “What if?” and more about “What’s essential?”

Here’s your mantra: pack light, stress less, and leave room for those fabulous souvenirs. Because no one wants to start their vacay in a tug-of-war with their luggage or their airline.

So, the next time you’re packing, remember: less is more. And hey, if you need permission to shop once you get there, you’ve got it!  Let’s travel smarter, not heavier, queens.
