A recent report from The Washington Free Beacon suggests that the State Department under Donald Trump has implemented a “one flag policy,” prohibiting the display of Black Lives Matter and Pride flags at US facilities worldwide. The order, reportedly obtained by The Beacon, mandates that only the US flag can be flown or displayed at government sites. This directive, attributed to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, also allows for the display of the Prisoner of War/Missing in Action and Hostage and Wrongful Detainee flags. The move follows Trump’s executive order to end diversity, equity, and inclusion programs in the federal government, as well as his declaration that the US government will only recognize two genders.
