Usher to Deliver Commencement Address at Emory University Graduation
R&B legend Usher is set to deliver the keynote address at Emory University’s 180th commencement on May 12 and will receive an honorary doctor of humane letters degree during the ceremony.
Usher expressed excitement about speaking to the graduating students and supporting them in finding their passions. Emory President Gregory L. Fenves praised Usher’s innovation and connection
with fans, highlighting his non-profit organization, New Look, which helps underprivileged teens. New Look’s partnership with Emory University’s Goizueta Business School aims to prepare high
school students for college, with impressive graduation and college enrollment rates among participants. Usher has previously received an honorary doctorate and delivered a commencement address
at the Berklee School of Music.
