‘Thunderbolts*’ Stays No. 1 With $33 Million

Marvel’s “Thunderbolts” and Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners” continued to dominate the North American box office this weekend, with “Thunderbolts” taking first place with $33.1 million domestically and $34 million internationally. “Sinners” crossed the $200 million mark in North American ticket sales, reaching a global total of $283.3 million. Despite new releases like “Shadow Force” and “Flight or Fight,” none were able to make a significant impact at the box office. Overall, the year-to-date box office is up around 16% from last year, but down over 32% compared to 2019.
